Invest in an Immigrant
With the generous support from Andrew Romay and matching funds from the Open Society Foundations, the International Center launched the Immigrant Support Program (ISP) in 2008. The ISP provides recent immigrants with a yearlong scholarship to the Center where they can participate in classes, activities, and networking events. The ISP is designed to help meet participants' needs so they can start functioning successfully in professional and academic settings in their new home. Each year the ISP serves 120 members. However, the need for the program is far greater.

How does the sponsorship program work?
Your tax-deductible donation helps provide a newcomer with a scholarship to the ISP. Donating $1,000 or more provides you with a biography of the immigrant or refugee whom you are supporting. The ICNY will send you progress reports and updates about the person you have sponsored. These updates will allow you to follow the progress the newcomer makes by participating in the Immigrant Support Program.
