Founded in 1961, The International Center in New York (ICNY) is a unique community where immigrants, refugees, students and other newcomers to the United States come to practice English and learn about American culture. Each year, we provide 2,500 newcomers, from 95 different countries, with a wide range of language and cultural programs through our corps of 1,000 volunteers.

Now Recruiting for Spring Collaborative Programs
In order to reach more immigrants in need of our programs, ICNY collaborates with community-based organizations and public schools that serve immigrant communities in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and throughout Manhattan. Please find a detailed list of programs here. If you haven’t volunteered in the community before, this may be the year to try!
